ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Katrina. I've been making scrapbooks, collecting photographs and backing up personal memories for decades. As a young child, I would interview my grandparents and relatives, creating family trees and building stories behind recipes, precious heirlooms and antique photographs. I've also kept a journal for over 45 years! I value memories and keeping them safe.
Professionally, I owned a full house video production facility for 25 years. Because of my love of the archiving aspect of the business, Memories Emporium was born. Not only do I think it is critical to backup printed photos, negatives and slides, I also think it is important when families grow up and move on with their own families, that everyone has copies. This has been super important for me as my children grew into adulthood and it came time to pass along their baby scrapbooks I had spent hours and hours with scissors and paste. There is only one! Hence, I couldn't find the heart to give away my baby memories, even if it were going to my baby so before I did, I bought the professional scanner myself and made sure I had my own copy of all that hard work and precious memories like I have been doing for our customers all these years. I have became rather addicted to archiving. When my mother moved in during the end of her life over ten years ago, along came the whole house hoard of her 80+ years of memories. She had everything. As a break from the care taking, I found solace in going through the boxes and boxes of letters, handwritten recipes, newspaper clippings and photographs, many I had never seen before! I've organized digitally everything by now - journals, kids artwork, deceased family letters and photographs, handwritten notes and recipes, just to name a few. One hard drive is in the safe deposit box and two more are in my computer desk (the rule of three applies in digital archiving - two is good but three is the gold standard for backup to safeguard against technology failure or loss). The best part is that the kids have their own copies that they took with them. Everyone has different interests and talents. For me, it is backing up things and organizing. How you want to organize your photos is up to you, I have seen it all! Massively organized albums to just a shoebox full of cluttered and tossed photographs. I can help, by choosing Memories Emporium you're protecting your memories from loss and have the ability to share the most precious parts of your life wherever you may be. - Katrina |
